There is a cluster of hotels near the Santa Clara Convention Center ( www.santaclara.org ) and Great America ( http://www3.cedarfair.com/greatamerica/index.cfm ). (There is a Light Rail Stop at Great America.) This area is about 8.5 miles from the Fairmont Hotel. There are many other hotels in the area but their location might be inconvenient if one does not have ground transportation. Most hotels have parking facilities. Online information on downtown San Jose parking can be found here: http://www.sjdowntownparking.com/ Some parking lots (the yellow ones on this map http://www.sjdowntownparking.com/parking_map.php ) have free parking after 6 p.m. and on weekends.
