Road Games
The Bobcats returned home today after a successful weekend away. Late Saturday night, in a game reminiscent of last season's 3rd place game at Nationals, Bates defeated Columbia 6-5 in OT thanks to a goal by Kathleen Boyland. On Sunday, the Bobcats traveled to Easthampton, MA to play Smith College. Down 2-1 with less than two minutes to go in the third period, Bates quieted the crowd as they fought back and tied up the game. The score remained at 2-2 through overtime. The Bobcats' record now stands at 3-0-1.

Tomorrow night's game at Columbia is at 10:05pm (not 9:05pm as previously posted) at the Ice Hutch, 655 Garden Ave, Mt Vernon, NY.
2008-2009 Season Begins!
We recently had some technical difficulties posting to the website, but are back in business now just as the season begins.
After a successful clinic with local youth, we began practice on the NESCAC-mandated November 1. After just six practices, we had our first game. On Saturday, November 8 at Fairfield, Bates Hockey began the season with a 13-5 victory at the Wonderland of Ice. Megan Arnold made her debut in net and Kathleen Boyland, Eve Boonseng, Caitlin Demko, Anne Mueller, and Rachel Laaf all contributed with goals. Special congratulations to Kara Sullivan, Rachel Kaplan, and Tess Glancey, who scored their first career goals.
On Sunday, Bates defeated Wheaton College in a friendly exhibition game. Next weekend, Bates makes the trek to Columbia University for a Saturday night game, followed by a game at Smith on Sunday evening.
Clinic
In cooperation with the men's hockey team, we are hosting a hockey clinic for kids this week, Oct. 27-31 at Underhill Arena.
Session A (ages 6-9): 6-7pm
Session B (ages 10-14): 7:15-8:15pm

Schedule Update
The schedule has been updated. The Nov. 8 @ Fairfield game is scheduled for 2:00pm and a home game against MIT has been scheduled for Feb. 7 at 2:15pm.
Activities Fair
Welcome to Bates, first-years, and welcome back returning students. Please come to the Activities Fair tomorrow night, Wednesday September 1 from 9-11pm at the Library Arcade (that's underneath the back of the library.) Look for our booth if you have any sort of interest in being involved with the team -- we'd love to meet you! Alternatively, if you get lost in the chaos of the fair, you can let us know that you're interested by filling out the form on the Prospectives page or emailing any of the captains.
