"Uni official defends action over plagiarism allegations"

According to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Newcastle has defended his handling of the university's recent plagiarism scandal: He [the deputy vice-chancellor] spoke with the University's vice-chancellor and recommended the truth of the matter be investigated, with a quick and independent inquiry. Counsel assisting the commission, Chris Ronalds, said the university's inquiry into the allegations did not address the issue of whether plagiarism actually occurred.

Uni v-c to give evidence before ICAC

Newcastle Uni "vice-chancellor Professor Roger Holmes will be the first to give evidence at an Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) hearing into plagiarism allegations at the institution, when it resumes next week."
