CLASS NOTICES
Updated

  • Please browse through and familiarize yourself with this website!
  • GENERAL PROCEDURES and IMPORTANT ADVICE :   CLICK HERE.
  • PLEASE COME EARLY to online class meetings.
The Zoom software makes it hard to admit students who show up late, especially during slide shows.

  • This page is used for late-breaking developments, as they arise.

  • WEEKLY CLASS MEETINGS start at 8 a.m. over Zoom.
NOTE:   Students who repeatedly miss class meetings always do poorly.

  • PLEASE REMEMBER to read the assigned chapters BEFORE each class--   you will learn much better that way.

  • OUR SECOND EXAM, covering Chapters 8-14, will take place FRIDAY APRIL 3,   unless an individual exception
has been made in advance.   Please email me with specifics if you have a situation that you feel may justify an exception (like a busy work schedule).
Part 1 of the exam will be posted online by around 6:30 a.m. on the morning of the exam, and Part 2 will be emailed to each student at about the same time.
You may take either part first, but Part 1 (online) must be completed in a single continuous sitting lasting no more than 90 minutes (very generous).
The entire exam should be completed no later than 6 p.m. on exam day, unless an individual exception has been granted.
(Time extensions, if justified, are often the easiest exception to grant.)

The exam requires use of certain software that you must download in advance if you have not already done so.
Click here for instructions in order to DOWNLOAD and TEST the software in advance, and also for further information about taking the exam.

  • MORE ABOUT THE EXAM:
A study guide, posted here, offers lots of advice and links to some sample questions.
The exam format and other pointers are explained here, and will follow the same general format as the first exam.
Exams are non-cumulative, and will not cover material already covered in previous exams.
The chapter outlines listed here are intended for use as a series of study guides,     together with the other material (illustrations, etc.) posted online,
and the material in the textbook.     Please begin studying early.
  • EXAM GRADES will be posted on Blackboard as soon as they are ready, usually within a day or two.
  • I do proofread the machine-graded questions. A few answers that I recognize as correct
may be computer-marked as incorrect, especially for bad spelling or typing errors.

  • INTRAUTERINE DEVICES (IUDs):
Among all birth control methods, IntraUterine Devices (IUDs) have the highest SATISFACTION RATE among users.
(Satisfaction rates are measured by answers to the question, "if you had to practice birth control over again,
would you prefer to use the same method that you used previously?")
IUDs are widely used in India and other parts of Asia, and are slowly gaining more widespread use in Colorado and other parts of the U.S.

  • PLEASE CHECK BACK to this "NOTICES" PAGE on Sunday evenings, and at least twice more during each week.
