For this filled Julia set, we've chosen a different escape test for those points on their way to infinity. Customarily, the escape test is a circle of radius 2 centered at the origin, but here I used a different shape --- a the complement of a narrow "wedge" formed by the intersection of two halfplanes... Points on the inside of this filled Julia set are colored according to how long it takes them to become attracted to the attractive 3-cycle.
