Welcome!

I am a professor of economics at Bates College where I hold the Betty Doran Stangle Chair of Applied Economics.

In 2007, I graduated with a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California Santa Cruz. Prior to my graduate studies in the US, I received my B.A. from the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB) and M.A. from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

My former professional experience includes being a senior economist at the World Bank as well as senior consultant for the Inter American Development Bank and United Nations. I have also taught at John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Yonsei University (South Korea), Vassar College and the University of San Francisco.

My primary fields of concentration are International Finance, Open Macroeconomics, Monetary Economics, Public Economics, Fiscal Policy, and Applied Econometrics.
