Armchair Traveller

In oopting to refer to or use maps in their art, both Dan Mills and Carol Emmens could be called armchair travelers. Indeed, Mills uses that title for his series from which two works are drawn. Although theseworks suggest a kind of suspended exploration within a studio or gallery, beyond a mere celebration of travel, they raise many questions of an existential nature, such as “Who am I?” and Where am I  going?”
