The recent work of Dan Mills (American, b. 1956) addresses and incorporates a variety of themes and imagery including cartography, humor, imperialism, satire, cartoon characters, even landscape and portraiture (of sorts). Mills has had recent solo shows in Los Angeles, Chicago, Tianjin, and a number US colleges. His work has been included in group exhibitions in New York, Beijing, Chicago and throughout the US. The series "US Future State Atlas" was published as a large hardcover book by Perceval Press in 2009.
