The Bates men travelled outside of New England for some interregional
competition this Saturday when they competed in the Saratoga Invite hosted by
RPI. The Bobcats swept the top 5 spots, scoring a perfect 15 points. The top five
were led by Senior Elmo Whitney. Elmo, who holds a 400 meter PR of 60.9, out
kicked the likes of James Lepage (1:51 in the 800), Noah Graboys (4:14 miler),
Mike Martin (4:19 in the 1500), and Andrew Wortham (9:03 steepler) to take first
place honors. Graham Pearsall and Cam Black-Ingersoll had great races, rounding
out Bates’ top 7 scorers and taking 9th and 11th places respectively. Next up for the
undefeated Bobcats is the State of Maine meet against a strong state and a talented
Bowdoin squad.
