Pop Crowell Invite 9/29/2012

Bates showcases its depth

The no.4 nationally ranked bobcats preserved their undefeated record at the Pop Crowell Invite with
a team victory over 24 scoring teams. With many of Bates’ top runners resting for next weekend’s RPI
invite, Bates’ depth was put on display. Many bobcats took advantage of the opportunity to run at the
front of a race and represented Bates well. The freshman trio of Waco, Hammer, and Timba along with
Captain Eric Kimball led the team taking places 6th, 7th, 8th, and 12th. Highlights also included Myles
Black-Ingersoll and Dizzy Masticore’s returns to racing after injury. Logan Greenblatt also ran especially
well on the damp and winding course. First-years Slater, Boomer, and Taco also broke 30 minutes for
the first time, a notable achievement. Other races that did not go unnoticed were Beeps’ 27:47 effort
and the efforts of Chef and DQ which also resulted in sub-28 minute times. Next on the agenda for the
undefeated Bobcats is the long-haul out to Saratoga, New York for some interregional competition and a
race in DQ’s backyard.
