This past weekend the Bates men traveled to St. Lawrence to race some strong teams outside of the region. The Bates men won with 53 points, with St. Lawrence taking 2nd scoring 75(Then ranked 11th in the country) and SUNY Geneseo taking 3rd with 76 points (Then ranked 5th in the country). It was the team’s tight running that won it for them, as the 1-5 split was under 40 seconds. Everyone one the team was deservedly excited after the race, and Coach Fresh had this to say:
“It was a absolutely great meet for us, being the 5th ranked team in New England going in and beating the top two ranked teams in the Atlantic Region really demonstrates how strong New England is. Both of these teams placed in the top 10 at the NCAA Championships last year so that bodes very well for us as we progress through the rest of the season.”
This result certainly shook up the National Rankings as Bates jumped up to 9th in the Country!
