a iii Authority record profile.

Used when exporting authority records from Connexion (so which one is used for subjects from Connexion?)

Updated 3/15/2013 to add 046 for RDA. Other name attribute fields covered in the 300-399 span.

a.old iii
aas iii Loads Evans records (American Antiquarian Society). Original table (for microfiche) replaced with eebo table and edited for aas (digital) 7/2010. Creates no linked records and uses no command line. Loads 001 as is. Does not load 035--first load did, but these duplicate real OCLC numbers and I don't want dup reports every time we work on a valid OCLC record. Does not load 049 [XXXX]. No incoming call numbers. Adds 506. Loads 533 as is. Loads LC subject headings and 655 7, although latter not currently indexed. Loads 752s. Loads 856|z View the electronic version
of this book. Manipulates 856 |u for Bates access. Loads 946. Adds 946:
American Antiquarian Society.
humanities adds the proxy prefix to the 856 |u and makes |z our standard wording. (Updated 10/14/2013 to add new prefix. Needs testing.)
alexstpress sks

Written to load vendor records from Alexander Street Press.

Loads first 12 characters of 001 (omitting suffix). Matches on 001; overlaying, protects only the cat date. Creates no linked records and uses no command line. Uses no holdings symbol; loads 050 call numbers; loads only LC subject headings. Adds 506: Access restricted to subscribing institutions. Adds 583: include CBB RSS. Loads 856|z View the electronic version of this book and adds proxy to 856|u using humanities map. Loads incoming 946 (Marcive Authorities); adds 946 Alexander Street Press.

Retired 11/2011. Now getting ASP as WorldCat Collection Set.

anam iii Name authority profile.

Used for single record export and batch loading in Data Exchange: Load name authority records.

Updated 3/12/2013 to add 046 for RDA. Other name attribute fields covered in the 300-399 span.

anam.old iii
anamx sks Load name authority records from Marcive.

No longer used as of 7/1/2009. During an IUG presentation on authority work, I learned Marcive could indeed add these cross references (unlike what I was told a year ago). So I guess finding out a year late (and after much added work) is better than nothing.

Adds a 4xx cross reference so Automated authorities module will update bib records for headings that need to have death dates added. When using, follow these procedures.

(no longer active)

auth puts |wtremove and |wodremove in 4xx fields with open dates.

asp sks Loads Alexander St. Press WorldCat Collection Set records for textual material.

Loads 001 as an normal OCLC number is loaded (stripping ocm). Matches on 001, protects only cat date if overlaid, creates no linked records, uses no command line, loads LC call numbers, loads only LC sujbect headings. Creates 506 Access restricted note. Loads 533 (electronic reproduction) without |n (Mode of Access note) since not all records have 533s. Creates 538 Mode of Access note. Loads 776 (these do not display, so they are no problem). asp maps proxy to 856 and adds |z with our standard wording. Does not loads 938s. Loads incoming 946 (Marcive authorities). Creates 946

asub iii Subject authority profile. Used for single record export and batch loading in Data Exchange: Load subject authority records.
asub.old iii
b iii Default bib table; can create items with 949.

III corrected old errors that kept table from validating and replaced out dated key title match with new match code (!), Spring 2002.

III added 336-338 fields for RDA, 11/2010.

Sharon added 344-347 and 264 for RDA 10/22/2012.

humanities adds the proxy prefix to the 856 |u and makes |z our standard wording.

dram sks Loads Dram records. Loads 001 as an normal OCLC number is loaded (stripping ocm). Matches on 001, protects only cat date if overlaid, creates no linked records, uses no command line, uses no holdings symbol, loads no call numbers (090, 092, 050, 052, 082, 084), loads only LC sujbect headings. Loads 037. Loads 506 (access restricted) and 530 (Also available on compact disc), since 530 contains New World Record CD number. Loads 710 (2,062 are DRAM (Online service), 1,042 are real.) ead iii

Not in the list of m2btab under Load Profile Maintenance.

Accessed from Import Invoives, Load Profile dropdown menu: Marc enhanced approvals and firm orders (ead)

Per Innovative c1099657, this is a standard profile that comes with the Extended Approval Plan Interface. Although we do not use, I'm not having Innovative remove it from the menu--it's not clear to me what it does, and if we would need it in the future. (3/2009)
eai sks Loads aggregator records created with MarcMaker; creates checkin with holdings statement. Created for EAI records; currently used for Science Direct.
Procedures.
No longer used as of 9/2003; we now purchase Serials Solutions records.

eBates sks This is a mistake and can be deleted. Names of load tables cannot have uppercase letters.

ebrary sks

Loads ebrary records.

3/2010 Loads ebrary PDA records.

Loads 001 as is. Matches on 001; if overlaid, protects only the cat date. Creates no linked records and uses no command line. Uses no holdings symbol; loads 050 call numbers; loads only LC subject headings. Loads 533 |n as note field. Loads 856|z View the electronic version of this book. Adds 946 ebrary instead of 710 2 ebrary, Inc.

Retired 4/2009 (getting these records via Serials Solutions e-book service instead).

Edited 3/5/2010 to load ebrary PDA records. Matches on 001, inserts record if a match is found. (OK to do since other ebrary records have ssj numbers.) Creates no linked records and uses no command line. Uses no holdings symbol; loads 050 call numbers (including eb at end); loads only LC subject headings. Creates 506 with standard Access restricted wording. Uses ebrary map to load 533 without the |n Access may be restricted note. Doesn't load a 538, since Mode of access note is in 533 |n. Uses ebrary1 map to add proxy and standard |z wording. Loads 710s. Adds 946 ebrary PDA.

If I edit this to load the purchased titles at the end of the trial period, have these titles included in the CBB new books list and use 946 ebrary PDA purchase. Have it load incoming 946 (Marcive Authorities).

4/23/2010. Money is used up. The way we get records for purchased titles has changed. I need to download the non-purchased titles (they contain a delete code) and delete them. So: change load table to match and overlay on 001; output and send remaining records to marcive; have them reload protecting only cat date and without adding CBB RSS feed (since C and B not reloading). Updated these fields to load as they are: 506, 533, 856, 946.

ebsco3 sks Loads Ebsco records; leaves holdings statement in 856 |3; revised from ebsco2 to accomodate Ebsco's reordering of 856 |u and |z.
Procedures.
No longer used as of 9/2003; we now purchase Serials Solutions records.

emono1 sks Loads Oxford Reference Online records.

Creates item with blank call number.

No longer used (2005); Oxford Reference added to Serials Solutions.

ecbbbates sks

Loads single title ebooks shared by CBB, purchased by Bates from Yankee.

Accessed from Import Invoives, Load Profile dropdown menu: CBB Bates purchased ebooks.

Does not overlay (would insert if match were found). Loads 001 as is. Uses no holdings symbol (049). Loads 050 and 090. Loads only LC subject headings. 856 11 will load as 856 41. Added 583 since these will go in CBB RSS feed. Loads 910. Creates 946 Yankee. Creates order from 980, using info from 980 and 981. Creates no item.

Beginning June 2012, load table is putting in cat date. As of Nov. 2011, authority work on single-title purchases was discontinued.

edited to add/check RDA fields 264, 336-340, 344-347 (sks 11/16/2012)

ecbbshared sks

Loads single title ebooks shared by CBB, purchased by Colby or Bowdoin from Yankee. Those that Bates purchases have to be loaded first through ecbbbates table.

Beginning June 2012, also loads the e-book packages for which Yankee supplies cataloging (e.g., CBB Cambridge eBook collection).

This table is the same as ecbbbates except:

  • It will not create an order.
  • It matches on 001 (ybp number) and rejects record if match is found.

The reject function allows Yankee to create one shared file (identical for all 3 schools).

Beginning June 2012, load table is putting in cat date, since package records are going to Marcive for authority work before being loaded. As of Nov. 2011, authority work on single-title purchases was discontinued.

fod sks Loads Films on Demand records.

Edited from eeco. Creates no linked records and uses no command line. Loads 003. Loads 008 as is, with code o in byte 29. No call numbers to load. Loads LC subject headings (650 and 655) . Does not load 655 _7 (Videorecording). Adds prefix: fod to 001. Does not load 506; adds our stock-phrase 506. Does not load 856|a. Loads 856|z View this video online. Manipulates 856 |u for Bates access. Keeps incoming 946; adds 946: Films on Demand.

edited to add/check RDA fields 264, 336-340, 344-347 (sks 11/16/2012)

fod adds prefix to 001

fod1 manipulates the 856 to add stock-phrase |z (View this video online) and proxy to |u

(Updated 10/14/2013 to add new prefix. Needs testing.--Susan must have asked FOD to add proxy to marc records, because now there are 2 proxies in the 856s. fod1 edited to no longer add proxy 11/9/2013)

fod2 sks Trying to re-load Films on Demand records. Was trying to make a load table that protected all fields, since the first load of Films on Demand records did not match our purchase, and they couldn't run a file of deletes for us. Couldn't figure out the load table protection line, so this load table doesn't work, but could be used as the basis of a "protect all" load table if needed in the future.

fse iii Full screen editor.
gobi sks Loads short bib records exported from GOBI (Yankee); creates order record.   gobi adds a 946 Yankee (GOBI). (Written before T funcationality in position 3 existed.)

humanities

sks Loads ACLS/Humanities e-book records.

Creates no linked records and uses no command line. Uses no holdings symbol; loads 090 call numbers, stripping
|bINTERNET; loads only LC subject headings. Adds 506: Access restricted to subscribing institutions. Loads 856|z View the electronic version of this book. Manipulates 856 |u for Bates access. Adds 946: University of Michigan/ACLS. Not to be included in CBB RSS feed, so no 583 loaded.

2011 update: Format of 001 has changed from very long MIU numbers to very short numbers with no prefix. Load table now adds acls to 001.

Nov. 2011: No longer used as of 11/2011; we now purchase Serials Solutions records.

humanities adds the proxy prefix to the 856 |u and makes |z our standard wording.

jstor sks Loads JSTOR records using microenhancer. Procedures.
No longer used as of 9/2003; we now purchase Serials Solutions records.

mrcv iii Loads Marcive records.

Was resulting in records with 2 086's; 1 from load table, 1 from holdings table. 086 removed and holdings table updated to include all 049's that Marcive adds to records (5-6/02).
Procedures.

edited to add/check RDA fields 264, 336-340, 344-347 (sks 11/16/2012)

myb sks My working space. Currently (7/2007) a copy of b
mybo sks Copy of iii bo; made to try to have it also create items. Doesn't work, using boi instead. Can be deleted.
mymrcv sks Copy of iii mrcv. III mrcv is more up to date; this should be deleted.
mypcat sks Copied from iii pcat. Not used for anything. Copied from pcat, edited to create boi. boi validates with pass 1 for both orders and items. (12/2003)
1/2006 Working copy to edit pcat to validate and not overlay.

naxjazz sks Loads Naxos jazz records.

On 3/1/2010, I edited the naxos table to load Naxos Jazz records: "These records are different from Naxos Classical records in use of 506, 530, 710, 830. Editing table for Naxos Jazz records, since this is presumably end of Naxos records from OCLC: Load 506 (these records have no 830 or 710 for Naxos); load 530 (these contains music labels and numbers for previous issues); load 710s (real); use map to add proxy to 856; load incoming 946 (Marcive authorities)."

On 2/10/2012 I copied that load table as naxjazz, so that I could use the naxos table to load Naxos OCLC Cataloging Partner
records. This is because the Scan/Delete process in the reclamation project
made me aware of 543 Naxos Classical records that should have been loaded and were not.

naxmus sks Loads Naxos records from Naxos (cataloged by the University of Hong Kong)

Some fileds were manipulated with Marc Edit before loading. See records loads page.

Loads 028 |a as the 001. Loads an 008 approriate for material type j, rather than material type m. Use zxx instead of eng for the language code in 008 and in bib language code. Loads 028 with indicators 02 (instead of blanks). Does not load 246 |h[electronic resource]. Loads 946 Naxos/University of Hong Kong.

Note: Loading the 028 |a as the 001 resulted in 18 overlaid book records. Load table changed to not overlay before loading 2nd set. Globally updated 001s after load, adding nax prefix.

naxmus manipulates the 008
naxos sks Loads Naxos records.

Load table creates a 506 (access restricted); does not load 530 (Also available on compact disc). Creates 946 Cataloging Partners. (8/29/2006, sks)
Second batch of naxos records (12/06) has 506 fields. But not loading, keeping the table generating one for each record so wording will be the same as the first load. (1/5/07, sks) Doesn't load 710. Re-evaluate before loading Naxos Jazz (12/18/2009)

Naxos Jazz, 3/1/2010. These records are different from Naxos Classical records in use of 506, 530, 710, 830. Editing table for Naxos Jazz records, since this is presumably end of Naxos records from OCLC: Load 506 (these records have no 830 or 710 for Naxos); load 530 (these contains music labels and numbers for previous issues); load 710s (real); use map to add proxy to 856; load incoming 946 (Marcive authorities). The changes recorded in this paragraph are now part of naxjazz load table.

The Scan/Delete process in the reclamation project made me aware of 543 Naxos Classical records that should have been loaded and were not. This naxos table was reverted back to load classical records and is currently set to reject if a match is found, since OCLC sent all records we should have in one file, and I only wanted to load the ones not yet in the catalog. (sks 2/10/2012)
So, if using this naxos table again, examine the overlay setting and these fields in particular: 506, 530, 710s, 830 (sks 3/13/2013)

oclc001update iii/sks Overlays updated OCLC numbers in the 001 field. Added by sks from Innovative/Sara Amato for MCSC reclamation project (sks 12/13/2012)

Issue: when these records are reloaded using a load table that protects all but the 001, data gets corrupted in the Leader of some records.

Workaround: Load records using attached load table, make sure to check 'review file'. Copy records into a review file. Search review file for records with Marc 21 Leader Impl Len (field c5) != 0 (these are the problem records) Contact Nancy Quan (nquan@iii.com) at III to "remove leaders" from this second file. The system then regenerates the system generated section of the leaders, leaving the other sections intact.

oldiiib sks Copy of old iii b, made just in case my replacement of their b didn't work. Can be deleted.
oldiiibo sks Copy of old iii bo. I couldn't update iii bo to have new duplicate match code (!) added because of old errors that kept table from validating. III fixed and updated bo; this can be deleted.
oldiiipcat sks Copy of original pcat created by iii. I couldn't update pcat to not have it overlay records because of old errors in using pass 2 that keep table from validating. So am archiving their copy and editing mypcat to replace pcat. 1/2006
oldiiimrcv sks Copy of old iii mrcv, now outdated (results in records with 2 086's). Can be deleted.

pcat iii

Loads PromptCat records; creates order and item.

Accessed from Import Invoives, Load Profile dropdown menu: MARC enhanced approvals and firm orders (pcat)

This will not validate; finds errors with pass 2, which is what creates item. Have asked Matt to correct this (5/02 e-mail; no reply; need to follow-up--open help desk call?).
(12/2003--Was able to create my own load table that creates orders and items (boi). No longer need this to validate since I can now copy boi if I need another table that creates orders and items. Since it works as written and is an Innovative table, I'm leaving it as it is.)
1/19/2006. Need to have pcat validate, so I can edit it to have it not overlay anymore. Copied to oldiiipcat so I can edit pcat.
1/2006. Am replacing this with a copy that validates and editing it to not overlay. Original pcat was allowing short promtcat records from firm orders to overlay our fully-cataloged bib records when duplicates, etc. were unknowingly ordered on Gobi2 by liaisons.

sersol sks Loads Serials Solutions Journal records.

This table matches on the 035, rather than 001. It overlays if a match is found, protecting only the cat date. It creates no linked records and uses no command line. It uses no holdings symbol. It loads only LC subject headings. It adds a 246 for every 245|a. Originally it got the OCLC number from the 913 field and loaded it into the 001. Edited 9/16/05 to keep OCLC number in 913, and load the ssj number--without (WaSeSS) prefix--in 001 (for NExpress matching).

edited to add/check RDA fields 264, 336-340, 344-347 (sks 11/16/2012)

xref sks Written to load Xrefer records. No longer used for xref as of 7/2007; we no longer purchase Xrefer records. Now used for one-time loads of records to freely-accessible material (e.g., Wright American Fiction), editing as needed before loading (e.g., 946, 049). Loads 001 as is. Matches on 001; if overlaid, protects only the cat date. Creates no linked records and uses no command line. Uses no holdings symbol; loads only LC call numbers; loads only LC subject headings. Loads 856 |u as is. Loads 856|z View the electronic version of this book. Adds 946. xref makes 856 |z our standard wording.
