The Organ at High Street: An Organist and an Organ Builder

The photograph on the right shows me at the organ console doing some practicing.

Below is a photograph of David Wallace, Pipe Organ Builder. In this picture, David is shown squeezed into the short space under the swell box, doing some maintenance. David truly knows every cubic inch of this organ, from the biggest pipes to the tiniest electrical components. And yet our organ is only one of several that he has rebuilt or serviced or installed. It takes many skills - woodworking, electrical, plumbing, metalworking, tuning, musicianship - to do what David does so well. Visit David's website.

Here are two pictures of pipes and flowers. Click on either for a larger version.

The left-hand photo shows the altar decorated with Easter flowers in 2008. On the right, a wide-angle view looking up from the altar, 2002.
