Citation of Codices according to the
Conventions of the Bulletin Codicologique
For the sake of consistency needed to facilitate searching for manuscript entries in this index, all manuscript identifications, including those which are part of the paper identifications, will follow the conventions of citation established for the Bulletin Codicologique. That is, manuscripts are identified by
- city, (but note: also entries like "Sinai," and "Athos"),
- library (but in cases like Sinai no library is needed)
- codex number
In this catalog, these manuscript citations occur for the most part in paper identifications where they are followed by a number referencing the paper.
- Athos Philotheou 3,1a
- Codex 3 of Philotheou Monastery on Mt. Athos, paper type 1a
Place names are unaccented, and in indigenous spelling or conventional English transliteration.
