BOBCATS WIN EIGHTH STRAIGHT WITH 110-75 TRIUMPH
OVER NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE

HENNIKER, N.H. — The Bates College men's basketball team completed their non-conference schedule in style tonight, trouncing the host New England College Pilgrims, 110-75.

The Bobcats, who led 62-38 at halftime, placed four players in double figures in matching their season-high point total. Junior forward C.J. Neely (No. Easton, Mass.) led all scorers with a career-best 25 points, followed by senior tri-captain Alex Wilson (Duxbury, Mass.) with 24 points and 12 rebounds. The Bates backcourt was paced by the other two senior tri-captains, Ed Walker (Roxbury, Mass.) with 18 points and Billy Hart (Haverhill, Mass.) pitched in 10 points. Sophomore guard Ramon Garcia (Haverhill, Mass.) had a career-high with nine assists.

The Bobcats' win was their eighth in a row, marking the second-longest winning streak in school history. They will try to match last year's nine-game streak on Saturday afternoon at Tufts in their NESCAC opener.
