Also in the first half, Pavletic successfully kicked for points. During the second half of the game, Pavletic kicked the ball during play and Katherine Brustowicz sprinted after it, touching it down where it landed in the try zone. Pavletic kicked the conversion. UMaine Orono
This game was a difficult one to play in because of UMO's terrible sportsmanship and disability to play a safe game. The scrums had to go unopposed partway through the first half and remained that way for the duration of the game. Regardless, Bates managed to win 13 of the 16 scrums. The first try of the game is scored by Jacqueline Smith. Bates had been held at 10 meters for about five minutes before Smith managed to run weakside and score. The second try of the game was scored by Katherine Brustowicz after about a 20 yard run. Afton Pavletic kicked the conversion. Throughout the game, good yardage was made offensively by Hero Fries and Jaqueline Smith. Di Akiyama also played a strong game. Woman of the match was awarded to Elise Ogden. Bates suffered one serious injury when wing starter Arlee Woodworth tore her ACL on a tackle. Very unfortunately, she is out for the rest of the season.
