KALICHSTEIN-LAREDO-ROBINSON TRIO

December 9th, 8pm, Olin Arts Center

Since making their debut as the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio at the White House for President Carter's Inauguration in January 1977, pianist Joseph Kalichstein, violinist Jaime Laredo, and cellist Sharon Robinson have shared both standard repertoire and commissioned works with loyal audiences in North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia for over twenty consecutive seasons.

In the 1999-2000 season, the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson will release their two-disc set of the complete chamber works of Ravel on Arabesque Records, and in February, make an appearance at a Carnegie Hall concert celebrating the 40th anniversary of Jaime Laredo's Carnegie debut recital. At the gala event, the Trio will join many of Mr. Laredo's long-time musical collaborators, friends, and former students. Additional performances in Philadelphia, Detroit, Tucson, Portland, Princeton, and New York's 92nd Street Y round out the 1999-2000 season. Rarely do three superb soloists come together to play chamber music with such quality, inspiring Robert C. Marsh of the Chicago Sun-Times to exclaim, There is no finer piano trio!
