Hamilton 96, Bates 88 BOBCATS DROP EIGHT-POINT DECISION TO HAMILTON CLINTON, N.Y. -- The Bates College men's basketball team (6-11) dropped a 96-88 decision to Hamilton College (14-2), the top-ranked team in the East Region, on the road tonight. The Continentals used a deep bench to their advantage, with their outscoring Bates' 31-3. The Bobcats placed all five starters in double figures, with sophomore co-captains Ed Walker (Roxbury, Mass.) and Alex Wilson (Duxbury, Mass.) each scoring 20 points for the second straight game. The duo shared game-high scoring honors with Hamilton's Brendan Ferretti. First-year point guard Matt Lapointe (Beverly, Mass.) had a career-high 16 points to go with seven assists, while sophomore shooting guard Billy Hart (Haverhill, Mass.) tallied 17 points, including four 3-pointers. Bates junior Rommel Padonou (Libreville, Gabon) had 11 rebounds to pace the Bobcats, while Kris Fudge led Hamilton with 12 and Joe Finley had 10. Junior guard Jimmy Driggs had 12 assists to go with eight points.
