- Revised authority procedures (12/2000-1/2001).
- Designed new catalog pages (main page and search input pages) to replace CBB search with Maine Info Net (11/2000-2/2001). Revised Using the Catalog. Added new pages on Item Status and Glossary of Catalog Terms and Phrases. Linked these from newly-created bottom logo in the catalog.
- Wrote load table for EAI records (2/2001). This table also works with Science Direct titles (4/2001).
- Head of unit during John's leave (2/2001).
- Wrote procedures for Brenda's authority work with CDs. (2/2001)
- Established with Sandi a process for handling Maine documents. Began ongoing meetings with Sandi to review Maine documents needings serials cataloging, including items previously housed in the Maine pamphlet file (2/2001).
- Corrected errors in existing m2btab.mrcv and excluded 850's from loading. Deleted erroneous 850's from previously-loaded marcive records (3/2001).
- Got 946 fields to load in Promptcat and Marcive records. Wrote procedures for updating holdings on OCLC and trained Marnie in new procedures. These new procedures eliminate duplicate holdings updating, and should substantially decrease our costs in this area. (4/2001-5/2001).
- Established an ongoing database maintenance schedule with/for Marnie. This process allows for systematically finding and correcting coding errors to present accurate records for Maine Info Net requesting. Our experience with the cleanup associated with the implementation of Maine Info Net and the development of the maintenance schedule formed the basis of our IUG presentation in Santa Clara (5/2001).
- Intensive study of map cataloging (June 25-29, 2001).
- Revised 856 link-checking procedures. Trained Simone to check the 856 links in the catalog (2/2001-7/2001).
- Assisted John with the investigation of a shared CBB catalog. This included attending the meetings, creating the Bates section of the excel table of marc fields, and visiting Amherst College (1/2001-5/2001). Marc excel file needs to be finished if/when needed file comes from Colby.
- Wrote procedures for replacing material and monitoring outstanding holds list (6/2001).
- Consulted with Jim Hart and Bob Allison on NEH grant to digitize and catalog Greek manuscripts (4/2001; 7/20001).
- Wrote guidelines for holding statements and item-level volume designations (8/2001).
- Wrote load table for Ebsco Academic Search Premier titles. Includes commands to create 246 fields (alt titles) and local fields 793 (uniform title) and 946 (vendor) (8/2001).
- Finished cataloging recon LP's (142). Approximately ten left, mostly Russian spoken word recordings, candidates for possible foreign language project with Techpro (9/2001).
- Converted Word Perfect files to Word (9/17-9/18, 2001).
- Integrated the processing and cataloging of government documents into Cataloging. Trained new Library Assistant, Government Documents. Re-wrote Government publications procedures. Designed workflow form for Recon government serials and Electronic government resources (serials). This was a major undertaking. (1/2001-9/2001).
- Set up Excel files for Techpro charges (10/2001).
- Wrote new procedures/documents for (10/2001):
- Coordinated installation of Advanced Word Search. Local work included redesigning screens, setting options, writing new Search Tips, and holding two sessions to introduce staff to new features (Word Search) (12/2001-1/2002).
- Greg: Transfer btsf and btsq holdings from 850s to check in records (btsf=918; btsq=48)
- Nga: In gov doc netr only records (400+), move SuDoc number from 500 field into 0860, field tag g. Delete empty call number from item record.
- Nga: Added contents notes to scores. One n.o.s. still needs doing: M128 .S26 B46 1997 Mel Bay presents 30 sonatas for guitar
