Each Monday, after the patron record load is complete, update the ILLUsername to get rid of the @bates.edu portion. The load table, first written to load only the first 8 characters (resulting in ssaunder, but also in rliao@ba) was re-written to load the entire e-mail, but protect the field from overaly. Therefore only new patron records have to have the @bates portion deleted.
