Following the highly successful pilgrimages to France (2002), Greece (2004), Romania (2005), Finland (2006), Turkey (2007), Egypt (2008), Black Sea (2009) and Russia (2010), the Friends of Mount Athos is now organizing its ninth excursion/pilgrimage for its members: this time to Georgia.
Our itinerary will take us to ancient monasteries and churches not only in the capital, Tbilisi, but also afar to historic monastic settlements (some as old as the sixth century) nestled in magnificent terrains and spectacular landscapes. Destinations include Telavi, Mtskheta, Gudauri, Kazbegi, and Gori.
His Holiness, the Catholicos-Patriarch Illia III will receive the group in Tbilisi. Team leader will be Metropolitan Kallistos. The maximum number of participants will be fifty and participation, as always, is limited to FoMA members and their spouses.
