The Friends of Mount Athos have endorsed one relief effort that is very close to the hearts of most of its membership. There may be other such efforts that will come to our attention that are appropriate to the purposes of this orgaization. As we learn of them, we will post notices here.

The following appeal sent out by the Metropolitan of Denver, Fr. Isaiah provides the essential information about this relief effort:

1. This comes to inform you that I applaud and bless the efforts of one of our priests, the Reverend Demetrios Serfes of the Saints Constantine and Helen Parish in Boise, Idaho, for organizing efforts to assist our Orthodox Christian monastics at the Decani Monastery in Kosovo of Yugoslavia.
2. Father Serfes has been in communication with the hegoumenos (abbot) of the monastery which has been helping the victims of the Kosovo tragedy of various backgrounds and religious faiths. Now more than ever additional assistance is needed.
3. Father Serfes is in contact with Mr. Veljko Sikirica who is the Secretary-Treasurer of the Decani Monastery Relief Fund.
