I have posted a description of the way I analyze papers on the Paper Content page. Read it before you write your critiques of your peers' papers. You should spend no more than one page (270 - 330 words) on each critique.Critique for Paper 2Part 1: Identify the writer's thesis statement (highlight it, underline it, etc). Identify the topic sentence in every paragraph (highlight it, underline it, etc). If you cannot find the topic sentence, note the fact. After you have identified the topic sentences, decide whether the logical lead to the conclusion set forth in the thesis statement. Explain how they do or don't in a paragraph. Decide whether you think the topic sentences are logically organized. Explain why (or why not) in a paragraph.
Part 2: In each paragraph, determine how the writer proves the point his/her topic sentence makes. Do they use quotes or cite examples from Suetonius or Tacitus? Do the quotes or examples actually support the point their topic sentence makes? Does the writer show how the quotes prove his or her point?
Part 3: Has the writer satisfied the formal requirements set forth on the Paper Form page? If not, what does he/she need to do to avoid my wrath?
