  • includes: looking up biographical information about the writers we'll read in the encyclopaedia
  • includes: editing several drafts of writing assignment

  • vigorous classroom debate does not require you to be a jerk
  • showing up for class on time demonstrates respect for me and your peers
  • giving me ample notice of absences for co-curricular activities demonstrates your general thoughtfulness
• you know or will soon learn how to use Ladd Library and its resources
• all students will read and understand all items on the class web page
