Figured I would toss out some stuff...

1) AVCNet FAQ v 0.000002 should be in the next post.... I know we need
   about 5 million things added, but i am not sure what they are....
   please pick it appart, send me ideas/stuff to add, flames,
   whatever...

2) I would like to see the fido-style local net chat echo MAINE gated
   into AVCNET as AVCNET.MAINE  This is a local chat echo set up by Bob
   Leduc as a way for local BBS's to provide a cozy little chat area.
   It would be nice to provide a place for students accessin AVCNet via
   a school to chat publicly with the rest of the loacl on-line comunity
   about somethinig other the .DISCUSS busseness.  I can do it from
   here, all Rob Spellman would have to do is set it up the same as any
   other AVCNET.* NewsGroup.  I don't think a mailing list would be
   nessasary, or even a good idea, for a chat echo....

3) What exactly was/is MaineStreet willing to provide re: websites/drive
   space/maintaince access ?

particularly for "NEW" in the Questions list for new or substantively

in most newsreaders.

Subject: What Is AVCnet?

 AVCNet is actually 2 things...

 AVCNet, The Organization:  The Androscogin Valley Community Network
 (AVCNet) is a group of Schools, Libraries, Electronic Bulletin Boards,
 Commercial Information Service Providers, NGO's, and Privet Individuals
 who have gotten together to provide a forum to bring together
 Organizations and Privet individuals as a way to educate the general
 public about the use of electronic forms of communication.

 AVCNet, The UseNet Domain:  Thanks to the folks at Bates College, we
 have our own UseNet Domain (avcnet.org).  We have UseNet Mail and
 Newsgroups (sorry, no alt.* at this time....).  if you carry UseNet via
 AVCNet, you MUST carry the AVCNET.* newsgroups.
