(I hope this goes to the right area; if not, sorry!) As a supporting member of one of the avcnet services I would like to suggest that the proposed fees for anything more than short amounts of online time and the "basic services" (e-mail and news) be kept to a minimum. Having just moved to the area recently and not being affiliated with any local educational institution, I was glad to see that there exists a community-based online services network. It is important, in my opinion, to keep any proposed fees low enough so that the cost to users would not approach that of AOL. If the feeds from Bates are free, then perhaps something to cover the costs of maintaining the phone line, computer equipment, software upgrades, and sysop time would be in line as far as I'm concerned. Perhaps there are other costs that I'm not aware of. In any case, to the operators of the avcnet and those at Bates, THANK YOU! -Kurt Kaufman
