A dedicated leased line for AVCnet may in fact be overkill. And there may be a solution right in our midst. We have been talking with Mike McFadden in Aurburn about sharing their line. Auburn has a line and it is underutilized, according to them. It mgiht be the place to begin, even if we have to switch service providers, as they have the equipment to handle the routering and switching, I believe. Secondly, by subscribing to a shared line, we can all pay less, and at the same time lower the costs for the city of Auburn. Mike has been looking into this possibility for some time and may have an answer for us soon. Of course, this is not the most appropriate place to post this concern, however, it seems that we might also want to begin some kind of review of the conference structure for AVCNet. We should be able to gate most things in and out of Bates, and it seems that we have many conferences with little content;.... and little community interest yet. My suggestion is to review some of this and re-something the conferences so that all of us in AVCNet carry the same conferences.... *********************** Oak Hill High School Wales, Maine <user>@oakhill.avcnet.org ***********************
