* I have thirty (30) minutes set aside to complete the study.

* In this study you will complete several brief writing exercises. Please note that you may be asked to write about an emotional topic. This study should take less than a half hour to complete. We hope that you will find this study not only interesting, but also educational by being exposed to some of the questions and issues that researchers in the Psychology Department study and the ways in which they study them. * Please understand that your participation in the research is voluntary and that you are free to withdraw your consent and discontinue participation in the research at any time. Your responses will be anonymous unless you have entered your name to receive credit in a psychology class for your participation. In that case, your responses will be confidential. They are confidential (but not anonymous) because it is possible that a researcher might be able to link the responses to your name. However, in the unlikely event that such a matching occurs, those responses will be held in confidence. All information collected during the research will be kept in password-protected files both during and following the collection.
