Welcome to Gary's "Stah and Cah Pahty!"

I am an amateur astronomer. To read my favorite poem, click here-->The Old Astronomer
(Note especially the last two lines!)

Do you believe in "Little Green Men?" Well I do!
I run the SETI@Home software as a screen saver, both at home and at work. (No strikes yet, but I keep hoping!)
To visit the SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) web site, click here ---> SETI@Home

Forgive me, but I am also a certified car nut! In my past I have owned a '34 Ford pickup truck (back in 1957/58, but never finished), a '33 Ford 3-window coupe (also in 1958, obtained from my brother, George A. "Chummy" Dawbin, never finished and eventually sold to Joe "The Jet" Jackson, Maine's first fuel dragster pilot!), an Olds powered '39 Ford 4-door sedan (1959), a (Tri-Power!) '66 GTO convertible ('66 through '68), a '69 Z-28 Camaro ('70 - '72), and a '92 5-Liter HO T-Bird ('94 - '96). I've included some images of a couple of those cars from my past! (I wish I had pictures of them all!!)

And I am a drag racing enthusiast, also. In 2001 and 2002 I ran a 4.6 liter V8 '95 T-Bird in the Street class at the local 1/8 mile strip. In the 2001 season I collected 5 wins and a runner-up. In 2002 it was just 1 win and 2 runner-ups. But I'm still having fun, and isn't that the point?
