106 - Winter 2003 Office: 2 Canham House (146 Wood Street) Phone: 786-8374 Office Hours: TMWTh 10-11 am or by appointment Textbook: Calculus (Single Variable), 3 ed., Hughes-Hallett, Gleason, et al. We will review sections of chapter 6 and cover most of chapters 7 to 11: topics include techniques and applications of integration, infinite series, and introductory differential equations. Prerequisite: Math 105 or an equivalent course in differential calculus and the basics of integral calculus. Homework: Homework will be due weekly on Wednesday. You are encouraged to work on the homework with other students. However, copying another student's solutions is not permitted. Be sure to write up your own solutions. No late work will be accepted. If you think that you will be unable to complete an assignment on time please come see me ahead of time to make alternate plans. Your lowest homework score will be dropped. Quizzes: We will usually have a quiz every Friday. These are intended to be straight forward and a means of assessing your comprehension of recent class concepts. There are no make up quizzes. Exams: There will be three in-class exams and a final on the following dates:
There will be no make-up exams. If there is any reason why you must miss an exam, you must contact me at least a week in advance to make alternate plans. Method of Grading:
