Cell Hell T-Shirt Design Contest
Each year the class produces
a t-shirt for the students in Bio 242 based on the general theme
of "Cell Hell." The design of the shirt is voted on
by the class from a selection of possible designs submitted by
students and staff of the course. In general, the designs can
incorporate two colors, a main design panel, and often a pocket
logo. The winning designer gets their shirt for free plus all
the glory! Examples of past t-shirts are shown below to spark
your own ideas - click the image to enlarge.
Design Submission Guidelines:
- DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING
DESIGNS: Friday, October 16th in lecture
- design must be of reasonably good taste
- the staff will be the arbiters of acceptable designs
- maximum of one primary design (back or
front) and a pocket logo
- the design MUST include Bates College
and the YEAR (pocket logos are good for this).
- up to two colors of ink. Please specify
the colors you think work best.
- designs must be as original as possible
- don't recycle others ideas (how boring).
- design drawings must be print ready and
at the proper size (some resizing can be done by the printers)
- if two colors, separate drawings must
be made for each color (requires separate screens)
Voting:
Voting for the designs will take place
on Monday, October 19th in lecture. Voting will be by secret
ballot and the design getting a clear majority of votes will
win. If it is close, there will be a runoff vote. We will decide
as a class the color of t-shirt to use.
