Archive of Plant rbcL Gene DNA Sequences

If your samples failed to be sequenced well, then you can use one the archived samples listed below from previous years.

Start: Take me to the DNA Subway website

  • If not done already, register (create a username and password). After getting the confirmation email, close and then reopen the browser and return to the DNA Subway site & then login.
  • choose the Blue line
  • select Barcoding: rbcL
  • select: Import trace files from DNALC
  • Search for the 2012 or 2013 submission codes shown below
  • Select one of the sequence ID codes listed for that year from the tables below
  • Perform the analysis as outlined in your lab manual using this sample as the query sequence.
  • Sequenced samples:

    • 2012 - submission code --- 10-207731046 Stephanie Richards Bates College-DNALC dated 10/15/12
    • 2013 - submission code --- 10-240989668 Stephanie Richards Bates College-DNALC dated 10/12/13

The following 2012 sequences (all forward sequences) yield very good results (10-207731046). Note that the
primer name M13F(-21) is appended to each sequence name in the Genewiz archive.

The following 2013 sequences (all forward) yield very good results (10-240989668). Note that the

    • Other 2013 sample images - mostly spring wildflowers and woodland shrubs.
These are samples the lab staff has collected to increase the diversity of
samples available to students. These samples are frozen (-20 C) for the moment.
(NOTE: DNA not submitted yet - the list may be culled later)
