Conventional Subject

The subject position in Socrates is fairly conventional and controlling in the manner of classical philosophy. (I don't think it is particularly Cartesian, but we may mean different things by that word.) This was partly a rhetorical decision and partly what I know best how to write. My aim wasn't to cut lose but to explore the edges.
