Why do tourists from elsewhere go to the Old Towns? Some go for the same reasons as the natives. Some treat the Old Towns as a spectacle that doesn't affect their voyeuristic way of being. But even so, what they find is not just buildings, it is a different way of living and being. Standing and walking in the Old Town is not like seeing it in a movie; the spaces and places have their effects on your own body and your possibilities. At the very least they suggest different textures of action; you have a different landscape of possibility around you.
