WANLESS, STRAHLE EARN ALL-NEW ENGLAND HONORS

GORHAM, Maine — Coach Carolyn Court's women's track and field team, with seven points, tied for 19th out of 26 teams that scored at the New England Division III championships.

Two Bobcat athletes earned All-New England honors. Sophomore Liz Wanless (Belleville, Ill.) continued her fine season in the shot put, taking fourth place with a throw of 41 feet, 11.25 inches. Wanless finished behind three athletes from the meet's top two teams, Williams and Wheaton. Senior Jen Strahle (Ridgewood, N.J.) also earned All-New England honors with a seventh-place finish in the 20-pound weight throw. Strahle's lifetime-best throw of 47-5.25 drastically improved her standing in the NCAA rankings, moving her into the top 20.
