WANLESS FINISHES 10TH AT NCAAS

ADA, Ohio — Bates sophomore Liz Wanless of Belleville, Ill., finished 10th in the nation in the shot put at the NCAA Division III indoor track and field championships today at Ohio Northern University.

Wanless, the 11th seed headed into the championships, had a top throw of 43 feet, 5.25 inches. She missed her first career All-America honor by eight inches. The Bobcats did not score at the championships. Wheaton (Mass.) won the women's title with 65.5 points.
