The Bates College women's soccer team snapped a two-game losing streak in rain today, defeating the University of New England, 3-0.

The Bobcats (2-2) got on the board in the first 10 minutes, when senior tri-captain Colleen McCrave (Walpole, Mass.) found junior Kate O'Malley (Deephaven, Minn.), who one-timed home her third goal of the season. McCrave and O'Malley connected again seven minutes later to put the Bobcats up 2-0. McCrave picked up another assist on the Bobcats final goal, the first collegiate goal by midfielder Jo-Ellen Rowley (Milton, Vt.), which came with less that 10 minutes remaining in the game.

With four assists this season and 20 for her career, McCrave has tied Jenna Macochnie '94 as Bates' all-time assist leader. McCrave is also Bates' women's basketball all-time assist leader.

O'Malley tallied her second multiple-goal game of the season and eighth of her career. She now has 31 career goals, moving her past Colleen O'Brien '92 into third place on Bates' all-time goal scoring list. Seven of her career goals have come against the Nor'Easters (3-3).

Bates senior goalkeeper Susie Arnold (No. Falmouth, Mass.) made three saves for her 13th career shutout. UNE keeper Becky Brown (Kingston, Mass.) had 24 saves in the losing effort.
