WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Bates College women's soccer team (5-4) saw their two-game winning streak snapped with a 3-0 road loss to Williams (8-0), the No. 2 team in New England and No. 7 in the country.

The Ephs got on the board early in the game on a shot from outside the box and were able to hold the Bates offense in check for the rest of the game. Sophomore Erika Esch (Joplin, Mo.) and first-year keeper Kim Martell (Needham, Mass.) combined for four saves in the loss.
