O'MALLEY REACHES 100-POINT PLATEAU AS BOBCATS BOUNCE NORWICH

NORTHFIELD, Vt. -- Bates senior co-captain Kate O'Malley (Deephaven, Minn.) became the second player in Bobcat women's soccer history to reach the 100-point plateau when she notched a goal and an assist in Bates' 3-1 victory over Norwich University.

O'Malley reached the century mark at 73:50, just over one minute after first-year midfielder Rachel Cochrane (Belfast, Maine) gave the Bobcats the lead with 17:32 left in the game. With the goal, O'Malley joins Bethany Maitland '89 as the only women in school history with 100 points. O'Malley needs 15 more points this season to become Bates' all-time leading scorer, and six more goals to top the goal-scoring list.

Norwich tallied first in the game, just shy of the 10 minute mark, but sophomore Amanda Waterhouse (Cumberland, Maine) scored the equalizer less than three minutes later on a through-pass from O'Malley. The Bobcats outshot Norwich, 22-4, and first-year keeper Kim Martell (Needham, Mass.) made just three saves for her first collegiate victory.
