BATES BLANKS MIDDLEBURY, 3-0
Dockery notches second straight two-goal game

LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates College senior forward Kate Dockery (New York, N.Y.) scored tallied the first two goals of the game for the second day in a row as the Bobcats dropped defending New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) champs Middlebury, 3-0.

Dockery's eighth goal of the season came less than three minutes into the contest when first-year forward Katey Szum (Amherst, N.H.) sneaked a ball through Middlebury's offside trap, giving Dockery a breakaway. Bates (5-1, 2-1 NESCAC) doubled the lead in the 33rd minute when first-year back Cecelia Clark (Berkeley, Cal.) chipped a ball to senior forward Amanda Waterhouse (Cumberland, Maine), who crossed a ball right to Dockery's head and in the back of the net. Junior midfielder Melissa Ostuni (Lynnfield, Mass.) iced the game two minutes later, breaking free of a scramble and blasting home a goal from 12 yards out.

Middlebury (4-2, 2-2 NESCAC) got 10 saves from senior goalkeeper Ali Connolly (Marblehead, Mass.), while Bates' Kim Martell (Needham, Mass.) made five saves in recording her fifth shutout in six games this season
