BOBCATS IMPROVE TO 4-0 WITH WIN OVER TRINITY

HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Bates College women's soccer team (4-0, 2-0 NESCAC), ranked sixth in New England, won their third-straight road game this season, defeating the host Trinity Bantams (2-2-1, 1-1 NESCAC), 2-1.

The Bobcats struck first midway through the first half, when sophomore Melissa Ostuni (Lynnfield, Mass.) tallied her second goal of the season, knocking home junior fullback Alicia Dermody's (Marblehead, Mass.) corner kick at the 20:52 mark. Rookie Kristy Crawford (Derry, N.H.) tallied what ended up being her second game winner of the week just 1:05 later, blasting Dayle Grande's (Concord, Mass.) pass home from 15 yards out into the far corner.

Trinity first-year Lindsay Aquilina (Buffalo, N.Y.) spoiled the shutout bid qith less than 15 minutes remaining, but sophomore goalkeeper Kim Martell (Needham, Mass.) ended with six saves for the win. Trinity's Sarah Bradley had 11 stops in the losing effort.
