Williams 16, Bates 7
The Bates College women's lacrosse team (1-2) faced a tough opponent in
Williams College (3-0) and dropped their second striaght game, 16-7.
First-year attacker Erin Flynn (Newton, N.J.) gave the Bobcats a brief 1-0
lead 1:54 into the game, but the Ephs scored the next nine goals in the
half before Flynn scored on an assist from classmate Nicole St. Jean
(Kensington, N.H.) just before the end of the half to send the game
into halftime with the Bobcats trailing, 9-2. Williams outscored Bates in
the second half as well, 7-5. Flynn scored twice more to give the Bobcats
their top goal-scoring performance of the season. She now leads the team
with eight goals in three games. The women are off until next weekend when
they take on Trinity and Conn. College.
