Middlebury 17, Bates 2

The Middlebury College (10-1) women's lacrosse team, ranked fourth in the nation, defeated the Bates College (3-6) women, 17-2, in Lewiston. Five of Bates' six losses this season have come to teams ranked in the top 20 in the Brine/IWLCA polls.

Ten different Panthers scored, paced by junior attack Kully Hagerman (Lakeville, Conn.), who had five goals and an assist for six points. Sophomore Jessa Martin (Barnard, Vt.) added three goals, while junior Amity Wall had two. The Bobcats goals were scored by first-year attack Erin Flynn (Newton, N.J.), the only Bates player to have scored in all nine games this season.

Middlebury senior goalkeeper Emily Bracken (Rye, N.Y.) made eight saves in the win, while Bates junior goalie Cil Bloomfield (Exeter, N.H.) had 12.
