Bowdoin 13, Bates 3
The Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team (5-2) used five goals from
junior Brooke Goodchilde and three goals and four assists from sophomore
Adrienne Gratry to defeat the Bates College Bobcats (2-4) today, 13-3, in
Brunswick. Bowdoin scored the first nine goals of the game before junior
Amanda Schall (Chevy Chase, Md.) scored the Bobcats' first goal of the
game with 3:46 remaining in the first half. Schall scored again 24 seconds
into the second half, and first-year player Erin Flynn (Newton, N.J.) cut
the Polar Bear lead to 10-3, but Bates could not generate any more
offense. Junior Cil Bloomfield (Exeter, N.H.), the Bates Female Athlete of
the Week, had a another great game in goal, making 20 saves.
