WOMEN'S LACROSSE DROPS OPENER, 10-5, TO DII LIMESTONE

GAFFNEY, S.C. - The Bates College women's lacrosse team lost their season opener today in South Carolina, 10-5, to Limestone College, a Division II program.

Despite playing in the snow, the Bobcats jumped out to a 4-3 lead at the half, behind two goals each from senior Julie Lundman (Worthington, Ohio), who missed last season taking year abroad, and first-year player Liz Coulson (Devon, Pa.). Sophomore Jen Sall (Gladwyne, Pa.) had the other goal. The second half was a different story, as Limestone outscored the Bobcats 6-0 in the second.

First-year goalkeeper Jen Strahle (Ridgewood, N.J.) made seven saves in her first career start.
