STRAHLE LIFTS BATES PAST TRINITY, 17-14

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Senior goalkeeper Jen Strahle (Ridgewood, N.J.) made a season-high 23 saves today as the Bates College women's lacrosse team won its third straight game, 17-14, over New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) rivals, the Trinity College Bantams. The neutral-site game was played at MIT.

Strahle's performance, the second-highest save total in her career, helped Bates (7-2, 3-2 NESCAC) overcome a 10-7 halftime deficit. The Bobcats, ranked 21st in the nation, handed Trinity its third straight loss after a 7-1 start. Bates got four hat tricks on the afternoon from sophomores Lori Jessup (Hatboro, Pa.), Catherine Crosby (Lincoln, Mass.) and Carrie Smith(Chevy Chase, Md.) and rookie midfielder Erica Nason (Concord, N.H.).

Trinity (7-4, 2-4 NESCAC) was paced by five goals from senior Anna Sullivan (Brookline, Mass.) and four from first-year attack Beatrice Gratry (Hunting Valley, Ohio). Senior goalkeeper Kelly Jo Burnett (Pennington, N.J.) had 10 saves in the losing effort.
