Williams 23, Bates 6 NO. 7 WILLIAMS DOWNS WOMEN'S LAX, 23-6 WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Bates College women's lacrosse team dropped their second game in as many days to a nationally-ranked foe, falling to Williams, 23-6, on the road. Williams (3-0) got off to a fast start, scoring the first five goals of the game before Bates senior Blaine Hudson (Madison, Conn.) got the Bobcats on the board at the 16:30. Bates (1-2) stayed within reach, trailing 10-4 at the half. Williams came back strong from the break, however, scoring seven unanswered goals over the first 15 minutes. Sophomore Jen Strahle (Ridgewood, N.J.) made the start, stopping 12 shots, while Maria Sparks (Marblehead, Mass.) had six saves in relief.
