Randolph-Macon 14, Bates 9 WOMEN'S LAX FALLS TO NO. 13 RANDOLPH-MACON, 14-9 WELLESLEY, Mass. - In their second neutral site game of the season, the Bates College women's lacrosse team dropped a 14-9 decision to Randolph-Macon College, the No. 13 team in the country according to the IWLCA. The Yellowjackets got off to a hot start, scoring six goals in the first 16 minutes of the game. Bates (1-1) settled down after that, but could not quite erase the early deficit. The Bobcats got two goals each from sophomore Liz Coulson (Devon, Pa.), junior Erin Flynn (Madison, N.J.) and first-year Liz Lawler (Dublin, N.H.). Randolph-Macon (9-1) was led by five goals from sophomore Erin Reidy (Ellicott City, Md.) and three each by seniors Jessica Burke (Millersville, Ind.) and Carrie Winkler (Towson, Md.). Burke also had a game-high four assists The Bobcats next play at Williams on April 1, while the Yellowjackets return to Virginia from their spring break trip to face Division II Longwood College April 5.
