, Bates 16, Gordon 8 BATES WOMEN'S LAX SNAPS LOSING SKID WITH 16-8 WIN AT GORDON WENHAM, Mass -- The Bates College women's lacrosse team (3-6) snapped a three-game losing streak today with a big road victory over Gordon College (8-3) in a contest rescheduled from mid-April. The Bobcats got four goals from junior Erin Flynn (Newton, N.J.), her top output of the season. Sophomore Liz Lawler (Dublin, N.H.) added three goals, while classmate Liz Coulson (Devon, Pa.), junior Jen Sall (Gladwyne, Pa.), and senior Blaine Hudson (Madison, Conn.) had two goals each. Coulson added four assists to give her a game-high six points, while rookie Stacy Bafford (Severna Park, Md.) also had four assists. Liz Rotsell had three goals for the host Fighting Scots. Bates sophomore Jen Strahle (Ridgewood, N.J.) had nine saves in the winning effort, while Gordon's Jess Seep had 14 saves in the losing effort. Bates will play its home finale tomorrow at 4:30 against Babson College.
