The Bates College women's basketball team (6-0) finished the first semester with an unblemished record for the first time in school history after posting an 82-32 whitewashing of the University of Maine at Machias.
Junior forward Emily King (Lebanon, N.H.) led the Bobcats with 16 points, while junior guard Melissa LaPointe (Salem, N.H.) chipped in a season-high 12. The 50-point margin of victory was the largest since January 15, 1997, when Bates defeated New England College, 114-46.
